The ComboLock is the fourth in the company's Notebook Guardian line of laptop computer anti-theft devices. The three other versions use key locks. PC Guardian also develops lock-and-cable systems for desktops, monitors, and peripherals.
The Notebook Guardian ComboLock is developed around PC Guardian's patented tamper-resistant lock mechanism. The one-piece lock and cable includes a lock made of stainless steel and chrome-plated brass and zinc. The lock is attached to a 6-foot, multi-strand galvanized steel cable sheathed in black PVC. Combinations are resettable, and the total number of possible combinations is 10,000. A unique lock "trigger" simplifies how users insert and secure the ComboLock to a computer's security slot.
